The initiative combined cleanup drives with plantation efforts to restore the ecological balance of the hill landscape and promote long-term sustainability.
Restoring Degraded Hill Ecosystems
Hill areas like Hanuman Tekdi face environmental degradation due to waste accumulation, human activity, and lack of maintenance. This leads to declining biodiversity, reduced ecological value, and poor public engagement. The challenge was to clean, restore, and regenerate the ecosystem while building awareness and participation.
Successful transformation of Hanuman Tekdi through combined cleanup and plantation efforts, leading to immediate environmental improvement and long-term ecosystem restoration.
Through collective volunteerism, RIA supported the restoration of Pune’s natural landscapes through environmental action.
A visual journey of ecological restoration driven by collective action, sustainability, and community participation.
