Youth Talent Development Society (YTDS), through its flagship #PlantAMillionTrees campaign, partnered with Bajaj Allianz to execute structured plantation drives across Pune. The initiative focused on restoring ecological balance by planting native species and ensuring long-term sustainability through planned execution and post-plantation care.

The Challenge

Addressing the Decline in Urban Green Cover

Rapid urbanization in Pune has led to significant loss of green spaces, increasing pollution levels and environmental imbalance. Many plantation initiatives fail due to lack of planning, improper species selection, and absence of long-term care. The challenge was to implement a structured and sustainable plantation model that ensures long-term survival and ecological impact.

Site Survey & Planning

Detailed site assessments conducted at Fergusson College and Bakori Hills to identify suitable plantation zones.

Land Development

Soil preparation and land conditioning carried out to support healthy plant growth.

Native Species Selection

Region-specific species selected to ensure adaptability and long-term ecological balance.

Maintenance & Monitoring

Continuous watering, monitoring, and care implemented to improve survival rates.
